The Next Big Idea
He just came out west for a visit to Northern CO and WY and has a couple of great stories from the trip including their trip down the Clarks Fork Box
and a little exploration we did going higher up in the NF Little Wind drainage
. Great writing and fun insights into a paddlers mind.
Speaking of paddling insights, I recently read Doug Ammons new book whitewater philosophy. I forced me parents to read the "why I kayak" intro because it captured so well that fleeting, nearly unexplainable and indescribable feeling we get from our sport and translated into something I thought they could understand. As you get deeper into the book a central theme develops around trying to get us, as paddlers, to think a little bit deeper about our connection to the river and what are paddling experiences mean. Interesting stuff and a pretty fast read. Recommended. You can get it direct from him here for $16 cheap Order for USA
