Magic. Those boats are like the TARDIS.

On the river, I can abandon who I am and what I've done. However brief it lasts, while on the river I am nothing important and everything insignificant. I am flotsam, and happy to be so.

You laugh, but that is her "Big" boat. Clair's Slip kayak from Jim Synder/ built by Murky Water Kayaks is way smaller. Ya, It's pretty awesome. She's killing it.

Most creek boat guys never even get a chance to try these strokes and positions without being throttled in a huge hole. It's all about bow vert and past vert transitions into stern transitions.

Phil U., Yes, but think about it. You're in a kayak what do you have to play with? The boat, the paddle, or yourself. Only two of those are good in a public comp. Paddle tricks have been around since the begining and most likely the first trick you taught your children. It is also easy to see why you don't like the weighted points it gets in comps. But, she's just practicing and doesn't even have a current or eddy line to work with.

I beg any freestyle paddler to try and do what Clair's doing without moving half way down the pool. That's the incredible part for me. When I do trick I move places.
I love to dance, but who needs the music- It throws me off.

It would impress me if it was a high gallon boat but a squirt boat is easy to toss around really easy in flat water but hey whatever grabs your goat!

Dang! Don, I just wrote a long, thoughtful, insightful post and lost it to the electronic ethers. Too late to try to rewrite it...

River Time

Phil, I'm going to hit you up soon. We can talk about it on the river. You can hit me up for a tour down Bailey/ Waterton/ Foxton/ Clear Creek/ Poudre.

She is really good. In last years Squirt Comp at NOC she doubled 2nd Place's score.

And, I still think she'll score higher in her new boat than in 2012.

I love to dance, but who needs the music- It throws me off.
