Size matters? (Cat tubes)

So I'm looking at Aire Wave Destroyers, pros & cons of 13 footers (true 13.0) vs. 14's? I want a playful, light, Numbers/Piedra/Staircase type thingamajigger, but not to get pounded in big holes at the same time. Thoguhts?

that is a perfect boat (the 13) for what you want.

Shape matters. Size, not as much.

I've spent many hours running both boats the last few years. Although the 13 just went into full production, they've had the design for over a year. It handles holes as well as the current Ocelot, and better than the flat top Ocelots they had until '07 when they changed the design. I ran the 13' in high flows on the Lochsa last year, and it handles big water like a champ. I also ran it on Washington's Green River Gorge at over 5000 (which is huge flow for that little river) and I didn't have a single complaint.

The 13 is the perfect playful boat for what you are describing. It handles steep, ledgey rivers but doesn't get eaten in holes.
