SF Rio Grande

I called watertalk and SF Rio Grande is at 960...anybody know what this level is like? Looking to maybe run it on Tuesday, as I have 1 day off only and am coming from Salida. Anybody heading overe there...give a call Bryan

Bowen,1000 cfs would be stomping in there...Not sure if I would want it at that level...If you give er,post about it...Should be kayaking at it's best...Watch out for the hole behind the huge boulder in the middle of the river...

This post may be too late to do any good, but I saw it a month ago and there was a log across the river left channel of the first class V drop where you would normally go right, so now you would really want to go right. Then again, it may be gone with higher water. Last year I was with a group running it at 1000ish and our probe boater got caught in the hole behind the boulder and surfed for close to a minute. It's an easy portage. Hope all goes well!
