selway flows

Hey I was wondering what a good minimum flow for the selway was. I am looking at a multiday in august, and the permit system for the selway is over on the first. There is 4,300 in lowell right now which is twice the long term median flow. Any info would be sick.

I'd check the flow at the Paradise Launch by calling the Ranger Station in Darby, MT (406) 821-3269. If the upper canyon is too low, you can fly into the Moose Creek Ranger Station I believe. Hope you find enough water!

Had some friend who went down at .9 , don't know that they would do it again. The first several miles are pretty bony, dry, dusty and all that.

Shearer is about 10 miles down and is a great strip and camp. Moose is the hell on top of that hill. To carry down some kayaks wouldn't be bad, but to carry down several rafts might be a challenge.

Bring a fly rod. Fishing should be spectacular.
