Sawpit strainer?

I read a few threads ago that there were strainers that not visible under water in Sawpit rapid on the San Miguel. Anybody got any beta on this? Is it still runnable? Suggested flows? Thanx.

Sawpit Strainer

I have heard from a few folks here in telluride that there are multiple submerged Strainers in Sawpit Rapid. I would not take the chance running it. Anything over 400 cfs is good to go for the miguel... I think it is @ about 700. Plannin on paddlin it this evening.......but will portage sawpit. I think it is still runnable but a swim or even ending up upside down could be serious.

We've run the Miguel (including all of sawpit) 6 or 7 times in the last two weeks at levels from the low 500's to mid 700's. Haven't had any problems with strainers. I believe there is one river wide tree below sawpit but we were able to pass right over it a couple of days ago when the level was at 535.
