Well maybe a little problem, but doable.

Got one for March 17th. Does anyone who is familiar with the run have predictions for flows?

David.
Tough to predict Arizona weather. Keep an eye on the Hannigan Meadow Sno-tel site.

Bupkiss for me! David, ditto GC, but actually things are looking pretty good..right now we're in good shape with snow pack and our regular snow period is just now coming up. Your date is a solid one....it's when I apply because that is around peak.

I got downsized at work and may spend the whole month of March at the river looking to get as much boating as possible...including begging onto trips. That is if my pelvis and collarbone heal in time after getting run over on my bike by a truck over Thanksgiving....yes, that was a sympathy ploy for any spots on any trips.

"As of February 1, the forecast calls for well below normal streamflow in all of the basins for the
spring runoff period, ranging from 37 percent of median in the Salt River near Roosevelt to 56
percent of median in the Little Colorado River above Lyman Lake. The updated streamflow
forecasts are based on several factors, including an exceptionally dry January and an outlook for dry
conditions to persist through the spring."

You can't find too much better of "experts" than the USDA/NRCS....

I'm a little surprised that they are predicting such poor runoff with the basin sitting at 93% of average....

I'm no expert and I don't live in Arizona-But heres how I would do it.
Your only 4 weeks out. It just started snowing there as well as here. If it keeps coming for the next 2-3 weeks, Just once or twice a week will do. The river should come up first week in march, Remember It's Springtime down there in March. You have March 17th. Thats a good date. Although I had March 15th last year. Had to give it up because I won't think of it in the 400's.
Call the rangers in globe once a week, They'll tell you what you need to know.
Get your group ready to go, And If you have to make the call on water levels. You should know within a week of your launch. You can make your final decision then.
The "Salt" is a "Crap Shoot" at best, Especially when you live 14 hours away.
