FIBARK needs safety boaters for the 2nd annual "Pine Creek Boater X"

We need 8 safety boaters on Thursday, June 15th. You would need to be at the Pine Creek Rapid by 8:30AM. These paid positions are for NON-COMPETING KAYAKERS. Requirements: Class 5 abilities, creek boat, safety gear, and energy to chase gear and swimmers. You will be set-up at the hole and below triple drop. There will be a Redbull truck shuttling racers and safety back to the top of the course. $40 for about 4 hours of work. If we filll all 8 postions the job will be much easier, because we will be able to rotate each boater from in-the-water to stand-by. It isn't going to make you rich, but it will pay for some beer and food at the weekend festival.

We also need volunteers for about 4 throwbaggers. It will earn you some free beer tickets. (Last year's hero throwbagger was Mike B.) Throwbaggers need to be wearing PFD's, river shoes, and bring their own bag. Come join the fun and bag the swimmers.

Call Mark Olson to sign up. 970-485-1924 or Private Message me

For those of you who don't know about the Pine Creek Boater X. This event proved to be one of the most incredible races of the year. It had it all...big water, big beat downs, and incredible head to head action! This years water is looking to be around the same level!!! For those of you who can't make it to the race Luke, from, will be getting all of the action on video. He will be showing the video at the Steamplant on Friday and Saturday night in Salida.

If you can make it up to see this event I can almost guarantee that you will be "very entertained!"

Wow! $40 dollars to spend a few hours picking up the pieces of the 2006 FIBArk Pine Creek boater X. YOu could probably pick up a local lady with that kinda loot....take her to downtown Salider and buy her a funnel cake. After that you can see some FREE live Music with Vince Herman and Great American Taxi, Mama's Cookin' and more...thats just day one! Stay the whole weekend and watch US National Freestyle Cometition...thats right, the muther F'in US Nationals. Free Music, New Belgium Beer, great water...what better way to spend next weekend.

So what's the prediction for flows on race day? Yesterday was about 2500, the hole was surging and was definately big but wasn't a keeper. I even got spun around backwards the second time around...Got bitch-slapped and rolled up. It's really fun up there and not too sketchy. I guess if it drops we will see some carnage... Today it looks like its about 100 cfs higher. Great time to get the warm up runs before its a munchy mo-fo....

It looks like the flow is going down. My prediction is between 1900 and 2100CFS. If it does get down below 2000 for the race, the carn factor will be much bigger.

We still need a couple more safety boaters. Anybody??

We still need a couple more throwbaggers. Anybody??

To all of the spectators: Come on down and witness an EPIC race!!
