s. platte, chutes--any post-flood visuals

although this isn't a big favorite among the buzz crowd, I was wondering if anyone has description of s. platte below deckers and in vicinity of chutes. Is it same mess that n. platte and waterton is in, or just a thick brown? Any other info. would be appreciated as we were thinking of doing an easy paddle there this Wed.

thanks

Why ?What happened to Foxton/Bailey and Waterton other than the flow going up?I thought the flooding was over by Westcreek ,11 miles upstream of the Chutes .It should be less jacked up that far down, the streambed is perfectly capable of much higher flows than we've gotten for years. You can road scout 90+% of it,check the Chutes for wood since it narrows there. The water is probably very muddied and maybe black with ashes from the Haymen fire, but couldn't be anywhere near as bad as it was a couple years ago.
As far as the run,it's real easy, boring for a good boater. The CHUTES can be exciting for a beginner ,III,the second one forms a good play spot at strong medium flows, there are 2 or 3 III-'S AT 500+ between chutes and takeout.ABOVE THE CHUTES CLASS 1 -2
Did Foxton /Waterton get a bunch of wood from Buffalo Crk.?

Up at Fox/Wat yesterday, warm chocolate milk water, rain, mist, riverside shanty towns, banjos playin', Appalachia style boating.

Some new wood, nothing that can't be seen from river level. Wood moving in boulder garden - scout before you go. Wood (new?) river right below broken bridge in Waterton, could be nasty for a swimmer, but easily avoided. Waterton over 1000 = fast and fun.
