Running Bolder Creek

I would like to run Bolder Creek, I have never been up. Could some body let me know where to put in and where to take out? What class is it?

The stretch through Ebin G Fine park is easy class III. You can walk shuttle through there or float down to the library parking lot or to 30th st. The stuff above the park is mostly easy IV, except for Elephant Buttress which approaches class V if it has water. It was flowing 100cfs today, and while I did see people floating, they didn't look like they were having too much fun. It starts to fill in with 150, but really the more the better. The "play park" through Ebin G. is pretty out dated. the hole pretty much sucks, but there are some decent eddie lines as well as a few that you can do more tricks on if we ever get some water.

The upper stretch can be tricky if it gets water, and all the rocks are sharp (like clear ck) from road const. There is some much more difficlut water up near Boulder Falls, but it needs 350 cfs or so to be any good.

Hope that is helpful.

I agree with Dave (except about Butress rapid approaching V-)
There is no real move to make in this rapid, everything very straightforward. I would say class III+ in difficulty, class IV+ in consequence; if you go upside down for more than a few seconds, plan on some extreme cranial impacts.

About a can put in above butress rapid, huge pull out on both sides. Or if there is at least 150-200cfs, you can put-in about a mile up where four mile creek enters boulder creek.

Like Dave said, the more water the better. This section above the play park becomes very pin prone below 150.

I'm usually down for a Saturday morning run or weekday evening run.

Dave, let me know if you ever want to run this after work, that is of course if we ever get some water.
