Run above Bailey

I did a little research but couldn't find much. Seeing as how nfsp is our bread and butter this year, is there anything above the bailey putin worth checking out? Really just looking for something different once we run dry.

I vaguely remember Jon Kahn talking about running it and other than a nudist colony on one of the banks there was not much there that caused excitement. Lots of fences and private land, but that was probably ten years ago so maybe things have changed.

I always look when I drive to BV on 285 above Bailey as well, would think there would be something more there.

i've got a section i call 1st cascade to hotdog stand. it is about 1 mile long and the take out is at the hot dog stand.

silly for sure, and only on the way home from bv if the wife wants to stop for a hotdog.

be super quick and put in above the obvious road side drop class IV the rest is 3-3+ creeky to the finaly at the hot dog boof.

prob. not what you are looking for.

Why am I not surprised that you would have a take out at a hot dog stand.

Bob have you run the chunky man made falls just below the concrete bridge?

I've scouted this section a number of times......some good drops but a preponderance of fences, and private property with landowners who are not used to kayakers at all. A couple of drops are man made where they squeezed the river into an artificial bed between the road and the cliff. I think bobs one mile section is about as spot on as it gets, a short III/IV at the top, some busy flatwater, one more drop right above Coney Island and you're done. It could be a sweet few multi mile run if you could put in at grant, and I'm sure people do do it......just how much fun you want to have with the fences and landowners I guess. The stretch from the jerky stand east of Grant to just past PCHS would be the worst.

We should call this stretch ''Bob's Magic Hot Dog Mile''.
