I think most people are going to be leary of telling you to go ahead a just do it. I did it once end of july '02 and it was nothing, but lower than now for sure. I was warned of hazards at blackrock but saw little more than a ripple, tho there are some weird currents in there for sure. I had a flat bottomed "whitewater" canoe, as the fellow who loaned it to me liked to call it. no keel, but plastic.
