Royal Gorge

Anyone been down there laely or over the bridge? Is it too iced over for some low water jonesin' or is it good to go? any feedback would be awsome

Word is that Parkdale is clear, I doubt the Gorge is. It doesnt get any sunshine this time of year.

I hiked to the top of Fremont Peak a few weeks ago, and the Gorge looked totally iced up (Of course I was like 1,500 feet above the river with no binoc's, but looking at it, I had no desire to boat it.

A group of us are doing a little play run Sunday on Parkdale -- boring whitewater, but the upper hole in Double Drop is good fun at this level - probably loopable for better boaters than me. (and there's no ice on Parkdale).

The last dude that paddled into Royal Gorge in February is still frozen in the first wave!
GH knows da truth, that canyon gets NO sun til early March, right now its nothing but ice bridges and frozen margaritas, RG wont roll til daytime temps are holding > 50F for at least a week.
