I got a new app for my iPhone that I thought I'd pass along to any fellow boaters. The app is real easy to use and reports realtime stream flows, and kayaking news. It's on the iTunes staff favorite list, an Editors top 5 sports app selection, has some great reviews on iTunes and also has some very good independent reviews, I attached them if your interested. I find it much easier to use than the bookmarks I used to have, no zooming, or panning needed to see the information on my phone, and no browser crashing.

RiverGuide for the iPhone

For those kayakers with an iPhone, I just downloaded my free update this morning. The app now has a favorite rivers feature to bookmark the runs I prefer the most. I can add, delete or change the order of the rivers in my favorite list at will. The river coverage seems to be the best anywhere now with over 11,000 river gauges listed....all available on my phone. The app seems fast also . I tested it using wi-fi and it takes about 3 seconds to get almost 500 rivers listed in Florida.
