River-run Resource books (like CRC)

I've discovered the CRC (Colorado Rivers & Creeks) guide, and have learned it's unfortunately out of print. I live in the Springs so there's little in the way of paddle shops here.

Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the CRC?

If not, does anyone know a substitute book that would provide me with the same or similar information (how to get to runs, what class they are, etc.).

Call the bigger shops around Denver. Mountain Miser, Confluence, Alpenglow etc. Keep calling. I imagine you'll find one. Rumour has it may be awhile before the next addition or future reprint.

Try amazon.com or just type a search, you can find out of print books in this manner.

no no no.. don't go giving your money to Amazon. Get it direct from Gordo himself! The more money (and it's not a lot) they get the better chance of us getting a CRC3 someday.

I just bought a copy of the second edition at Downriver Equipment last week for $33. There were still a few copies left - I didn't realize it was out of print, but every time I went in to their store, I'd touch it, leaf through it and couldn't stand it any more - I had to have it! I'm really glad I bought it now!

it's also not as informative as it should be....

A lot of new runs have come up over the years since CRC II came out. It would be nice to see a detailed CRC III, with topo maps, better photos, more reliable info, and perhaps an eBook version that could be loaded on a PDA or laptop.
