Rio Grande playspots???

heading through taos and into santa fe tommarow or the next day, was wondering if there is a good hole or wave to play on off of the highway. any idea of a mile marker? has anyone boated this section in awhile? is there ice?

There's a big turnout at Sleeping Beauty and a trail down to the river, but I don't know what is the mile post.
