Are these runs worth a memorial day road trip from Denver at the mid 400cfs levels? Any chance the water gods will turn these up for the memorial day weekend?
Also, I would welcome input on the Conejos Pinnacle George, if you have it.
Lower Taos Box is not really runnable below 700. The lowest I've done it is about a bit over 650 and we hike into Powerline to skip the 10 miles of low low low flat water. The hike in is epic if you are looking for a thrill. There are a lot of sieves in there.
I think you can run the upper box around that level and also Razorblades although it starts to flush, but you will need a local to point the way to it. It is fun short easy IV pool drop with a 1/4 mile goat track hike in and a 1/2 mile hike out of the canyon.
The racecourse/Pilar is runnable and there is some fun play/surf. But low. Worth it if you are there. You can park and play at Sleeping Beauty roadside.
Water is not going to go up.
