Reshaping an oldschool kayak

Has anyone ever tried to add a little rocker to an old school boat? I acquired a necky jive this winter for a grand trip, which was awesome, but wouldn't mind an inch more rocker on it. I think as long as it doesn't stretch too thin at a certain point it shouldn't hurt the structural integrity too much, and given the price I paid for it, I'm not too worried it I completely screw it up. Any thoughts on this?

I had an old X and skip boat that I put boiling water and a heat gun to. Go slow, the plastic will start to soften and then there is a very fine line between pliable and O- shit I got a hole in my boat. My rule of thumb has been: If I can touch the boat and keep my hand on it, its ok. You could carve out a chunk of plastic from the cockpit rim and see what it take to melt that. Then not go that hot on the hull.

old school mod

We used to play around with modifications quite a bit using a home built rack that looked a lot like a ladder and used cam straps and sand bags for uniform manipulation. I imagine you could easily build a 2x4 ladder, strap your boat upside down, heat gun to the right temp and tighten cam straps to desired rocker. Sounds fun- good luck.
