Reno river fest re-cap.

First off, I am still in a haze. Playhole, city life, casinos, mad night life, dancing till 4am, Burning Time (truly epic, see it), 25th floor room service at Circus Circus, roulette and Mr. "20 free drinks a-piece" Mike Harvey,no sleep till last night, still have a rinnging in my ears kind of time.
The feature was good to go. Softy foam pile with a nice right shoulder. A touch shallow in a spot but whatever. The guys and girls KILLED it. The mens final between EJ and Jay had felixs both ways, back and front loops, trickys, that new BillyHarris thing "phonics monkey" (killer hole move), EJ mystery peace sign from the hole three feet under only to return back to the hole with a flurry including one nasty of a air loop. All in downtown Reno where I about shut the city down and walked away with $145 in winnings from the tables. Yeah Dawg. I have to say that considering this is the first year they are now at top of the list for river events. They should have OR there. Way better then SLC. Problem is you would not get a whole lot done. So many spectators overlooking the river, stellar rides, and the partying is there. My body will testify. Im glad to be back in Colorado though. Nothing beats this place about now.

Word...sick was incredible. The paddlers laid it down...I can not believe how far hole moves have come in just one year. My man Hobie is the master of the Circus Circus lounge and sat in on a sick version of "knockin on heaven's door" with the cover band who sounded like Led Zepplin by my 23rd vodika drink. Seriously anyone that digs the combo of fun play park paddling and ridiculoid night life should put this on their calender for next year.

In the words of my new friend Conchita..."Slow down Turbo!"

yes, mike and hobie are correct - it was one of the most intense weekend river events i have ever seen! the pros dominated the hole and it was the most impressive playboating i have had the pleasure to watch - the phonics monkey is a bitchin new trick i gotta learn NOW!

however, hobie and mike left out one key bit of information: they were the mc's for the event all weekend and not only did they kill it, but they did it on almost no sleep - talking for about 12 hours each day to everyone about everything! it was an impressive job and they should defintely be proud. (we need a new nickname for bryan kirk, though - captain?)

i'll be back in colorado this weekend - see ya'll then...
