Whoops--another quick update on some funky gaging:
If you check the gage below Green Mountain Dam today (maybe in about half an hour or so), you'll notice that it will say we've cut releases by 50 cfs, reading around 700 cfs. However, there will still be 750 cfs running down the Lower Blue.
This is possible because of Elliot Creek. We divert water into Green Mountain Reservoir from Elliot Creek. Today, the canal running from Elliot Creek to the reservoir began running higher than we prefer, so we are bypassing some of that native inflow straight down Elliot Creek to the Lower Blue--about 50 cfs worth.
Elliot Creek feeds into the Lower Blue below the gage at the dam. So, even though the gage reads 700 cfs, with Elliot Creek, the Lower Blue will really be at 750, still.
Just a little additional into for everyone.
P.S. Will someone please send me a PM telling me how to appropriately adjust the time on my posts so that they reflect the actual time I posted? Thanks! E.g. I posted this at 2:00 p.m. rather than 11:30 a.m. which my account shows...
