Question about the south silver in cali...

Heading to Cali in mid April and very curious if anyone has beta on the run. I have camped up near icehouse before, but not familiar where the run actually is. The Holbeck book refers to it as a 9 mile run... although on the latest LVM, there is a "South Silver Race" that is only 2 miles?? I am not even sure if it's the same run.

Has anyone out there run this before??? If so please cough up the goods.

I really want to pack this into our plans for what is always an epic trip.

in april you will have to walk up as the road to the putin will probably be covered in snow.

drive to the top of icehouse res and start walking up the creek where the road ends. you can't miss the goods. make sure you scout out the portage at the bottom of off ramp. you will need to get out on a rock on river right just above the unrunnable stuff and climb up a small cliff and pass boats.

a lot of people also walk after the slides below the final waterfall. it gets pretty congested and chunky from there down. i've run it before with decent water and it wasn's too bad, though.

other than that it's pretty straightforward - just scout lots on the way up.
