I suggest comparing Snowpack percentages online, and also check here: Emery Water Conservancy District: Home
They have a camera called the Joe's Valley Glory Hole camera which will show you the reservoir level. To give you an idea, that round concrete tube has to submerge to get water in the run. It's not looking very glorious this year (yet). The problem is that they have to refill the reservoirs before any will spill into Cottonwood or Huntington. Two years ago, LF was ok, with some portages for wood, and Huntington Ck. below Forks of Huntington Campground was lousy with strainers. I've never been on a run with 20+ wood portages...no joke. Both runs need a Husquavarna more than a Pyranha.
The best gauges are those on the EWCD website, especially the Huntington teacups and Joe's Valley. Cross your fingers, and write me if you're headed that way, there are a few paddlers in Moab who'd meet you there if it's going (ie: me and Brad).
