SUPPORT THE FORT COLLINS WHITEWATER PARK!!

Friends of the Poudre and the Downtown River Enhancement Project Fundraising Committee will host an evening of live music, food, beer, and auctions at the Rio Grande Restaurant to benefit the Fort Collins Riverpark.
The park will be located where College Avenue crosses the Cache La Poudre River in downtown Fort Collins, and if all goes as planned, we could begin construction as early as this Fall! We are so close!! Please mark your calendars for our fund-raising event:

Where: Rio Grande Restaurant Ballroom, 149 W. Mountain Ave. in Ft. Collins
When: Sunday, May 22nd, 5-11pm
Tickets: $20 Donation entry fee includes Mexican buffet and 2 free New Belgium Beers and ALL proceeds go toward the Whitewater Park. Get your tickets early for this event, as it will surely sell out! Tickets can be purchased at the Mountain Shop, 632 S. Mason in Fort Collins, or online

The fundraiser will include a silent auction of outdoor equipment, paddling gear, clothing, local goods and services, and vacation prizes, as well as live music by The Atoll. Auction items will be posted on Mountainbuzz once the list is complete. Doors open at 5pm, with the auction preview until 6pm (beer will be served). Music, food, and auctions will start at 6pm.

A white water park in FC would be cool. Do the plans involve increasing flows though? Seems like so much water gets diverted for irrigation.

from what I've heard if we get a park the are required to let more water flow through the main channel of the river which would be good not only for boating, but also for the health of the river. So much of the water is diverted away that the poudre out of the canyon is dying. Supporting this project is a good thing and it increases your chance of winning the lottery by 300%.
