Poudre thru Fort Collins?

Has anyone run the Poudre river thru Fort Collins? I'm new to the area, cross over the river daily going to/from work. Part of the fun of running rivers (IMHO) is exporing "new" rivers and "new" sections. I'm new to the area. Nothing like getting to know town by floating through/by it on the river. Wondering if anyone has any feedback - hazzard, put ins/take outs - any info is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

right now you'd probably have more luck floating down college, but during runoff it would be possible to float from the canyon all the way through town, but there are a lot of low head dams all over the place. I have never floated the section but have biked along it and it seems like never ending class II interspersed with dam portages. if that sounds like fun wait till may and give it a shot.

Does a bike trail run along the stretch of the river all the way through town?

Thanks for info.

The bike trail is always near the river, starting in Laporte and continuing well past Prospect Ave. somewhere. There's at least 2 good sized low-heads between Laporte and College Ave. Here's a link to the city's bike map:
