Ya...go to the ark, keep are poudre pristine and wild and scenic, And I have NEVER seen an Ark guide who could come up to the Poudre and be successful right off the bat, so stay down south and leave the best river to the professionals!!

My run was sweet I was not disappointed. That is a long stretch of good fun water and I got to see a couple rafts dump their loads in pineview.

It looks like the high water is going to hold out on the Ark too. So I should hopefully get to see it over 3K this Friday. Hell of a year!

I've always headed to the Ark and never gotten Poudre'd. My Wednesday is free. Would any Poudre aficionados care to show me what's up? PM or email at DanOrion a/\t ya hooooo d\o\t com. And hell yeah I'll bring the beers.

I think the original poster wanted to compare the Ark through Salida with the Main Poudre, but the Yampa beats them all.

handful of creeks w/in 30 minutes of steamboat

sickest 2 holes in the state

Cross . . . 14k in June, still at 8k

No commercial rafting scene at ALL!!!!

I ran the Poudre yesturday from just below the Narrows to the bottom past the dam. You have to get out and walk around there. But the flow was up, running fast and loads of fun. I am not a class V runner yet so I avoided the Narrows, but plenty of challenge in the next few miles. I had to roll a few times. But never missed my roll on the day which I am proud of, thank you. You will deff. have fun running the Poudre.

Sorry, I haven't replied to this thread again. I have been too busy being knee deep in the front range strange to check the buzz. And that is what i will end with. If we look at what to do after running ze gnar, nothing beats heading to the Steakout, grabbing a pitcher of PBR, a Dan Issel Chicken burger and then finding a Maxim girl to take back home from the BARmuda triangle and give it to her so good that you knock the PI Kappa Theata Tattoo off of her lower back.

In the Ark valley all you will be grabbing is you left hand and a box of kleenex or your ankles.
