We made it through middles alright yesterday at about 1.4, it was alright...lowers was certainly more fun. What's the lowest you run upper?
Glad you got up there
There are a number of res's in the upper canyon... the biggest of which are Longdraw near Cache la Poudre Pass and above the Big South, and Chambers and Joe Wright above the Spencer Heights (Poudre Falls) section on Joe Wright Creek. Another big contributor is the Laramie River Tunnel that comes in below Spencer. Not everything is gauged, so it's often hard to tell what should be in the Narrows. If you look at the flows page ( Flows | Poudre Rock Report
) you'll find Longdraw, Joe Wright and Tunnel charts in addition to the Canyon Mouth (the big missing piece is a flow from Chambers). There are lots of ways water can be taken out before the Canyon Mouth, so that's rarely reliable... hence the Pineview visual gauge and the Rock Report.
I've paddled Upper's below 0.5, but have also broken a boat in there at those flows.
