Poudre is running 470 cfs

In town.... check out the USGS gauge in town at
USGS Real-Time Water Data for USGS 06752260 CACHE LA POUDRE RIVER AT FORT COLLINS, CO

You can go to the spot by the old power plant off College and the river and play on the 2nd wave. Great fun at night under the moon light.....

I agree, though I haven't tried the full moon trip yet... But the last 2 days have been great. Very entertaining Thursday with all the snow on the banks. Getting out was even more entertaining. I'll be curious if it lasts beyond the 31st.

Don't know about polar bears, but I suspect we looked a bit like otters at we were slipping and sliding climbing up the bank in the snow Thursday. Sadly I don't have
any photos from then. But here's one from Friday

Well it's not coming out of the canyon. However I suspect that the large body of water directly west of town has something to do with it. Get it while it's there

And it's gone....

Bob, It's source is Horsetooth as shown here: Detail Graph

If memory serves the water year ends on 10/31 so water users who have storage and have not already drawn their shares for the year will pull it out in late October. Which I think also is the explanation for O-Hole's name & flows.

It was definitely dropping when I was on it today and was lower than the last 2 days, but I'm not going to argue given it's 10/31 and I was kayaking!

Actually it depends on who you are. For most, it is as you state, but not all. For example for NCWCD it ends on Oct 31. For data off of DWR's site it does indeed end on 9/30.

Though according to the Coloradoan, this release was unrelated to any water year but was instead due to Excel shifting water from reservoir to reservoir.
