Poudre Camping Options for this weekend

Thinking about going to the Poudre this weekend and of course all of the campgrounds are filled by reservations. It looks like the only option is public land up Pingree rd. So how far up do you need to go on Pingree road to find camping?

With the price of gas, I would like to stay closer to the mish area, any suggestions? Is there anything up Stove Praire rd? If your willing to share a secret spot, please PM me. It would be much appreciated.

Stop at the Mish and offer Robin $10 to camp on the island. Sometimes he'll say yes, sometimes he'll say no, and sometimes he'll stare off into space and ignore you.

For future reference (as they are booked this weekend) on Poudre camping, check out the Columbine Lodge in Poudre Park.
The camping is $15 a night and includes use of the shower house.

They also have cabins with fridge (beer) and microwave $80 a weekend.

Location should be sweet during highwater.

Call Becky at 970-484-3013.

ps. Lotsa, they also have the best Ice Cream selection....

pss. they also provide a shuttle to the Mishawaka and probably for kayaking too.

stove prairie is all private. back on pingree near the intersection with crown point road, you might be able to find some place to camp, but expect a lot of people back in there. you might try the road between rustic and red feather (CR 169?). there are some dead end logging roads off that road that should offer some privacy, but expect a lot of four wheelers in that area.
By the waterside I will lay my head.
Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul.

Unless you get there Friday night, you will probably need 4wd to find a good camping spot off of Crown Point Road. We went up there last year for Memorial Day and the snow drifts starting getting thick up around 10,000 ft, and every campsite below that was taken.
