A celebration of the rehab of the Green River Dam, the last impediment to boaters traveling from Flaming Gorge to the Colorado River confluence is happening May 11th. We need paddlers to attend the event to help show the media and the public how cool this new boat chute really is!
If you are in the area please come to this grand opening.
Where: Green River Dam, Emery County – Map here: https://goo.gl/maps/wTzkff7n9J62
When: May 11th at 11 a.m.
This dam created a dangerous hydraulic in the past that paddlers have been forced to portage at times, but which usually forced groups to start their trip below it, or to end their trip above it. Now it has an easily passable boat chute, allowing for parties to travel an incredible stretch of the Green from Dinosaur National Park to Canyonlands National Park!
