I searched through the threads, but came up with minimal info at best. Is there a play park/hole in Estes Park? If so, what guage/what flow? Any info is appreciated.
There is a park (two holes by Lacy). It's under the bridge behind the Dairy Queen right in the middle of town. I believe it is on the Big Thompson River but am not sure and don't know which would be the applicable gauge. I've been there once at 100-120cfs and it was not worth the time. The first hole had almost no eddy service and the second had okay. You could front surf 'til the feature surged. Maybe throw an end.
Thanks, found it in the "Bible" as well. This is another one of those "...headed there with family, wanted to get the boat wet..." inquiries. Appreciate the info!
I spent 4 summers playing in that hole/wave. This time of year...its gone. All based on snowmelt. Take an hr round trip drive to Lyons playpark on highway 36 toward boulder, there is still water to play there.
