Pedro and Ben on the Today Show!

Hey Everyone,

This morning Pedro Olivia and Ben Stookesberry were interviewed by Ann Curry on The Today Show. I cannot express enough how proud I am of those two, and it has almost nothing to do with the actual waterfall descent.

First of all Pedro and Ben have done something very few of us in the kayaking world have been able to do which is bring national and international exposure to our sport and do it with a positive and inclusive message.

Second and most importantly I could not be more proud to have Ben as my partner and Pedro as my friend. Instead of speaking about how great Pedro is for what he did, they both presented themselves as humble, happy and well spoken individuals want to share their excitement for the sport and relate to the audience.

Here is the link in case you have not seen it.

Highly impressive. Great feat, great interview, great people. This exposure hands down has the potential to completely change the face of kayaking... in a good way. Every whitewater related business should be bowing down and kissing the feet of Ben and the team for working towards this interview. They have opened up a completely new realm Great job guys!

I shared a cabin with Pedro at Worlds last year in Canada. One of the coolest and most talented paddlers I have met. Plus he is always having a good time. Congrats Pedro and to Ben for breaking new ground. Awesome work on the water and spreading the word.

beautiful HD footage, HCIV is going to be insanity. i liked the soundbite from cody and the shot of paul g on cascade as well, but definitely props to pedro and ben, they were great, but especially ben, who (as always) comes across as the best ambassador to our sport that anyone could ever ask for! i especially liked his last little bit about "breaking barriers to break world records". korny, yeah, but way dope too. love the part about the snakes and the aftermath too, that's too funny!
