Party Durango on Friday night and movies
We've got a great lineup for the Animas River Days kickoff party and
movie night, this Friday at 6 pm.
First, seven great films from the international REEL Paddling Film
festival. These include Rafting/ Kayaking in Siberia(which won BEST
ADVENTURE PADDLING FILM) to kayaking rivers in the arctic with
Superpaddler Steve Fisher (REEL BEST WHITEWATER FILM) to White Salmon,
Washington, a paddling paradise. This features a true whitewater chic,
White Salmon local Kate Wagner, who lets viewers know why she loves
boating so much.
But best of all, we have 8 short films committed for our first ever
local paddling fest. And these are good! See a Vallecito Creek first
descent... by inner tube! Witness Pandoras and other top secret
creeks. Warm your heart with First Descents... the kayaking camps for
cancer kids with local founder Corey Neilsen. See Bug Lokken - local
C-boater in international competition. Watch local paddlers hike
their boats across the desert to reach Utah's San Rafael. Enjoy the
Polly dolls as they go rafting.
It happens at the Smiley Building Theater, on Friday June 10, 2011 at
6:30 pm. (doors open at 6:00 pm) Yummy food and drink available
from Zia and Ska!
Tickets are available in advance from Maria's Bookshop and from
