Paddles!!!

Just a little poll to see what paddles(length, etc) everyone uses.

I use a Werner Sherpa and a Werner Double Diamond I think it is both in 194's. What do you use?

ah shit, I guess i'll talk to ya. I was thinking about getting a new one anyway so if anybody has the drop on some off season bargains on werners let me know....sorry, not to hijack your thread.

I use a 194 werner bent-shaft player that is getting way too beat up, I'm wanting to get a shogun or powerhouse 197. If anyone has any reviews of either feel free to chime in.

I use whichever paddle I find floating down the river an outfitter lost.

My preference is a carlisle 60" orange and purple from wv.

Sorry I know you are asking for kayakers, just didn't want you to feel ignored

I personally use the Werner Double Diamond bent 194.

El Guapo: Here are a few sites to check out. I haven't paddled either.

I have been using a werner sidekick for a few years now. I switched this year to a Mitchell and I am addicted. this is by far the best paddle I have ever used in 18 years of paddling. I highly recommend it. I switched back to my werner for a few trips and hated it. I'm going to buy another Mitchell so I have a spare.
I think the Werner blades are a little more durable though. The stroke quality of the Mitchell is unmatched. It's all carbon.

I like to run rivers and play, but don't want to switch paddles according to what I'm doing that given day. I have found that the Werner Sidekick, with an oversized play blade gives a strong forward stroke for river running/creek w/o much flutter and a great pry for playboating as well (as the blade was designed w/ freestyle in mind).

I like the Werner Sidekick carbon 197 bentshaft, and have been using this blade for about 3 years now...its sweet!

The shogun is also great for river running but not my favorite for Colorado park n play, but we've seen it done before. Go carbon for a lighter and stiffer blade, which means less flex and a more powerful stroke (unless you have shoulder issues then glass could be easier on your joints) Check em out here:
