hey -

you could always do the gunnison, escalante to whitewater, though i wouldn't kayak it cause it's SUPER flat, but has some great camping and Dominguez canyon is pretty cool (40' water fall and swimmiing hole up canyon, as well as petroglyphs (spelling?). or the colorado is good from dewey bridge (westwater takeout) to moab. 50 miles, with some fun rapids above moab. (take out at big bend to avoid epic flatwater boredom). or the white river is supposed to have some good floats - i think there's a wilderness run (non-roadside) called cowboy canyon - look at the colo./utah border where the road bails (bring bug juice though). or the yampa from craig to maybell (cross mnt. gorge put in). though there's a pretty good section of III through juniper canyon.

seems like there's some good floats around durango too. (pidra from hwy to resevoir?) -

anyways, i'm always looking for good floats too.

feel free to email me if you are looking for more details: skahn@ltenv.com

have fun - S

white river

Is probably not suitable for anything larger than a canoe now. The only raftable time are spring to mid-june. but is beautiful.

piedra from hwy to res

i have floated this in a canoe down to fossett gulch bridge and you need to watch out for barbed wire fences across the river!

For the record, the Westwater take out is at the Cisco Landing... before Dewey Bridge. I do agree that the section between Dewey Bridge and Moab is a good option.
