Oregan Guide Book?

I am planning to go to Oregon for some winter paddling. I have noticed a choice of two books on AW. Soggy Sneakers: A Guide to Oregon Rivers or Paddling Oregon. Does anyone have any experience with either of these books and can recommend one for kayaking?

Is there any guide book that is as good as the Bible? I have never found one. Thanks for any info about the books or about boating in Oregon.

I think someone should rewrite the Cali guide book. It would be alot of fun and all the hard work is done. Just take alot of pics and write some descriptions. That guide book sucks compared to CRC.

Soggy sneakers is the only way to go all though it pales in comparison to the CRC.

the best whitewater in california, is a good one...lars and stanley...third edition? why does it suck so bad...older yes, but the shit remains the same...

Although its not a "guidebook", you should definately check out www.kayaking.peak.org . This is an awsome site was put together by Jason Rackley and features river descriptions with lots of good pictures. There are probably over 200 runs featured, and most of them are Class IV or better runs in Oregon and Washington.

I agree. Rackley's site features all the best that Oregon has to offer. If you're based out of Portland, be sure to check out Jeff Bennett's 'Guide to the Whitewater Rivers of Washington'. It's pretty much the bible.
