Wow - I was planning to hit the Ocoee this summer. I hope that's not a normal weekend day on that river...

love on the left side of the pic that raft is jammed up on the rock.

Gotta love "Grumpys." And what's even better, is just upstream of the rock in the middle of the photo there are sharp pieces of metal.

Normally it's not *that* crowded.

This looks exactly like it did last summer when I was there. I waited with my one boat crew for an hour just to get down the ramp. One of the commercial boats wedged itself on Grumpy's rock just in time to give everyone else a nice soft cushion to push off.

Once past the put in rapid boats spread out to fun, continuous Class III, until you get to the last hole and then watch out for the thousands of kayakers waiting to surf.

I worked there for 8 seasons and that usually only happens on the weekends, but with Whitewater Express or Quest (can't tell which by this picture) wrapped on White Face, that looks pretty normal! The put in has changed recently, but it is still challenging... especially when it gets above 2,000cfs. Fun river... I've boated it up to 23,000 and it is awsome!

Awesome. Paddled that when the olympics were being held on the upper a while back. Looked pretty much the same. Fun river.
