NRS MavericK

Can anyone tell me about their experience with the NRS Maverick IK. We are thinking of purchasing a few but would like to get some personal opinions.

I have one and like it, but I've only paddled it a couple times on class III. One thing I noticed was that it takes FOREVER to self-bail once it's full. I don't know if that is specific to the MaverIK or a general ducky issue.

I bought one on pro-form a few years ago to take with the raft if the wife wants to paddle through some small wave trains. It's inexpensive and fairly durable, but if you're planning on doing long stretches or overnights, I'd have to say that the seat-backs are a little weak. They kind of fold over when you lean against them & they don't support your back well. If you plan on using an IK as your primary whitewater craft, then you might be a little disappointed. If you want to keep it low-budget and light use, they're fine for the money. The Aire Force looks like a quality IK to me, but I've never paddled it or sat it in....

Flaco you may be thinking of the Bandit. The Maverik uses a thwart basically for the seatback and is hypalon. They're also not too cheap at $1300ish.
