The weird circus atmosphere and the history of that run alway was part of its appeal. If i ever signed up for a heli tour, that was the one I was going to go for. Sounds like I missed my chance though...
On another note, what a strange hobby Bill Koch has. Building a fake western town with no history whatsoever, no visitors allowed to even make history, employees are forbidden to talk about it, and yet this is the "authentic" west? It sounds like a model railroad diorama only at life size. Its not a stretch to imagine his employees are forced to don cowboy hats, chaps, and warbonnets and act out his "west" in which case they're probably just as happy to not talk about what goes on there.
For those interested in the real wild west and not Koch's pathetic hollywood inspired dollhouse, read up on the "Royal Gorge War". Short version: 2 railroads, 1 canyon not big enough for the two of them, and real bullets did fly.
