NM predictions

i guess the snowpack isn't exactly off the hook this year, but i was wondering if anybody could chime in on whether or not the Embudo will be going this spring. and maybe when?

i was down there last year in mid may. right now i am in between seasons and have almost the entire month of april free to do whatever (go boating).

Looks like some low %'s, I'm told that the embudo might not go this year from the locals, but we can always hope.
If you have the month of april off you should go to cali, that shit is going off right now and it is so much better than low water NM.

Satellite pics look like they have 25% of what they did last year. San Juan's look lower too but not nearly as much.

unless the weather patern changes, it won't be pretty.

My Home state is goig to go off like a powder keg this summer if they don't get some much needed moisture. I would not look to the NM runs this year. La Nina has been tough on northern New Mexico.

cali is too far right now. i am on the east coast, and thinking about hitting WV for a few days before going to Minnesota to chase their runoff. i thought that if flows are too frozen up north, or cranking too high, i could use NM as a back up plan. i figured if the snowpack sucks in NM maybe the embudo would blow its load early and be done.

Atom thinks Embudo is a no-go this year.

The rio grande basin's snow pack is 80% of average, but that is mostly headwaters near Silverton. All the NM snow pack gauges are 1/2 last year at best, the further south you go, the worse they get. Maybe if we have a wet April and get some snow the Embudo will flow at low flows, but I'm not optimistic.
