New to Denver Area- WW Newbee

I have recently moved here from North Dakota. My Girlfriend has got me into and hooked on Whitewater Kayaking. I have been on one light run in BV so far and done a bit of rolling in a pool. Have yet to do my first combat roll but a expert at wet exit,, lol

Does anyone know of where I can get some lessons here in the Broomfield area, now thru next spring. I would really like to get my experience and confidence up for next year. My schedule is very sporadic since I still work in North Dakota and don't really have a set schedule.

I have a Jackson Dynamic Duo, Jackson- Funrunner 70, and a Pyranha S-5 that I own so far. And all the gear to go with it. So I just need someone to help me learn and somewhere to learn it at.

I believe if you join Colorado Whitewater they have classes in March and April--I plan on doing these next year as well, so might see you there.

And they've got a swiftwater rescue course next weekend, Sept. 8-9. Right now I'm looking at a banner advertising the course.

Nick Wigston at Downstream Edge in Boulder could probably hook you up with private lessons through the winter, there's also Confluence Kayaks in Denver.

These three are all MountainBuzz partners and can be found by clicking "Partners" on the blue bar across your screen just above the banner.

Have fun & be safe - and consider yourself fortunate since your GF is getting you into whitewater instead of trying the other way around!

Everybody's looking for instructors these days. This is such an novel idea for me. Maybe I'd actually be a good boater if I'd ever gotten some instruction on how to do it. I would suggest contacting Confluence Kayaks in Denver and see what they can do for you as far as professional instruction. There's still another month or two where you can find some beginner areas to paddle on the front range.
