I'm down in NM right now and the word on the street is that the Upper Box is going right now. It's been hanging between 350-400 for a few days now. It's pretty low and bony, likened to one big sieve, but doable.

Weather sure is nice though 65-70 degrees.

I hit Pilar on Wed. It's wet & cold, but it's flowing none the less. Not a lot of action to speak of at these low flows, but the locals let me on to a nice little play spot which is top notch right now and on the Pilar stretch.

Still coming up, I trust ? Forgive the question, but with the light NM snowpack I had to ask.

Any of the locals have a guess on what it will be in early April ?

upper

The upper box is fed entirely by Colorado. The San Luis Valley must be letting us have a bit of water. It is just under 400cfs right now

Very low, but still fun if you are anxiuos to creek boat. This could be the peak, Wolf Creek does not have alot of snow and that does not bode well for the Rio Grande. Unless some kind of miricale happens, NM will have ZERO runnoff. Couple of us might hit the Upper this Sunday. If the Gauge drops below 375cfs, don't bother with the drive. Also there is good play at Sleeping beauty and Sous hole on pilar as long as the cfs is over 500cfs.

We are on the way down, in Denver right now picking up some stragglers. We met last year when the Embudo was going. There is a small group of us comming down and we are planning on running Sat. and Sun early in the morning. Smoke 'em if you got 'em!

Where were you guys, we were hoping to get to boat with some locals. . . no such luck. It was a beautiful day on Sunday and I have the sunburn to prove it. I guess we'll be seeing you guys up here more this year due to the trickels down there. Maybe next time.
