Pappa...Mamma is doin good and Lookin good too. Thanks for asking
You're right about a ton of really Big things happening. Major kayaking Teams and videographers making it to our event. Also some Big Time sponsorships. I'm busting at the seams trying keep this on the down low until we've ironed out some small details. I want to make sure that everyones expectations are exceeded especially the Buzzers . Everyone is going to be super stoked !!! There will be some really cool things happening for everyone........... instructionals in creeking and freestyle from guys you see in the videos and magazines. There will be major prizes for competitors. The bike trials is going to be super cool....Check out ripstoke.com We're working on a major Title Sponsorship with Toyota. The list goes on. We have commitments from Dagger, Jackson Kayak, Keen footwear, Smith Optics, LVM and John Grace, Team Riot, Oskar Blues, Bitterbrush Cycles in Lyons, rockymountain river boards, paddling life magazine, Paul at Eddyflower and I have emailed and we'll hopefully be working together.........and that's only a few of the commitments........We've been working on this all year. The goal is make it an outdoor festival that everyone will enjoy. I really want to get younger kids involved in kayaking (if you have ideas please send them my way). I want the sport that we love so much to be enjoyed by the entire family..... Hopefully our event will help make this happen. I also want what we see as limitations in our sport to be exceeded. I remember discussing the SSV race down the Narrows with Kyle and he suggested putting gates in there.....I really puckered but thought.....That is the mind set of our sport....gotta love it!! I feel our event can be a catalyst for that growth. I want to promote river safety and river awareness. I also want there to be options in town for people that don't kayak. We're breaking into the mountain bike seen and hopefully this will grow our event each year. The party will be at Oskars. As we all know everyone one is welcome there.
Enough word vomit.
I hope I've given you a good tatse of what's going on and what to look forward to June 9th. Just to let you know I still have a lot of stuff up my sleeve and will let it all out a little later. See you soon
