New kayak program for disabled vets in Grand Junction CO
We are starting a new program to teach disabled veterans how to kayak. This will be a joint effort with Wounded Worriers and Team River Runner with the support of Colorado Discover Ability in Grand Junction CO. We are currently looking for gear or money donations to get our program up and running. We have a few boats and some gear already but we are in need of more paddles, spray skirts, PFDs, float bags, and any other gear you might have laying around, except for used helmets. For safety reasons we will not be accepting used helmets but if you’d like to buy and donate a brand new helmet still in the packaging we’d greatly appreciate it. Also, while we appreciate any help we can get, all gear must be in good working condition. These donations will be tax deductible and will be a huge help in getting the program up and going.
We are starting our program mid-April, we already have 5-6 disabled vets looking forward to giving it a try. If you live in the Grand Junction area and you’d like to help out or if you are a disabled vet interested in the program you can pm me on this site or respond to this post.
