Thanks for all the info!! I starting to face my fears, sort of Last week I did the Lower Taylor and realized that I had the skills to maneuver around rocks and holes and such. Also I finally rolled, only 4 times so far but it felt awesome! I get nervous before I get in my kayak but after all the advice I am trying to use the nerves to keep me alert. I think I may be a kayaker after all, just taking it slow. THANKS AGAIN FRIENDS!

This is still me sometimes...
I usually have to take a shot of Jim Beam before a run...takes the edge off. I just keep a flask in my kayak at all times.
Then I can relax and go with it.
Good luck!

practice and patients, advance your comfort levels, and practice new techniques in a controlled enviroment with a competent instructor, take a swiftwater rescue class is always a good investment and will increase your comfort level in the water.

I don't know about the Jim Beam, if you have to get your courage out of a bottle you might want to try a different sport like Bar Brawling.
