Need some help finding cloth coffee bags for a press

Memory not what it used to be.

I have used search inside the Buzz and google and no luck.

I thought I saw a thread here were someone posted a link to buy small cloth bags for use in a coffee press to make cleanup not a problem.

Have searched all the coffee threads and either I keep missing it or what ever. Thought I had bookmarked the site but must not have.

Thanks for the help

I thought I saw something a while ago (not on the Buzz) that reccomended sewing coffee grounds into an unscented cloth diaper and then just bunking that into a large coffee pot with water just off the boil.

I use a giant percolator on river trips and it takes a good 25-30 minutes to get coffee steeped enough for boaters. The cloth diaper routine sounds like it would save on messy grounds and be a heck of a lot faster.

Okieboater are you the guy who was looking for the rectangular DO last year? Did you manage to get one from AAA? They sold out pretty quick after I put it on the Buzz. Hope you're doing well. You get another 100 days on last year? I'm very jealous.

Take care,

You can buy empty tea bags and fill them with coffee grounds instead of tea.

Yup Tom thanks for the info on the dutch oven.

I scored one immediately with a phone call and two of my buds over in Arkansas ordered a couple the next day.

Those things are still not made and there has to be a nice niche market for them. I like my round DO's for most baking but I put three of the little loaf pans in the rectangular one and it makes great loaf cakes or bread.

Thanks again for the tip.

Yup, I use a big coffee press and only thing wrong is clean up. Some one posted a URL for cheap bags that you can put ground coffee in, dump into the press and then clean up is a snap. Just toss the cloth bag. I need at least 8 cups a pop and the tea bags are a little small.

I learned about the diaper drip deal on Guide School in NW with Destination Wilderness a few years ago and it works, just more bulk than I like to mess with.

Thanks to all for the help.

Nope on the river days, pulled a hip ligament and it took a while to get if repaired, actually I did a thing called prolo treatment instead of the operation. started last november and as of now it is working well. Only got maybe 50 last year. Retirement has been great for me. Only problem so far is Salt (one of my favorite early runs) is totally dry which is a bummer for me and a lot of folks who like AZ boating.

We use large tea bags (Bags From Mountain Rose Herbs), fill them with your favorite coffee at home, throw them in a zip lock bag, and then all you need to do is put one in you coffee pot full of boiling water. When done you can toss the whole bag, and there is no cleaning up the coffee grounds. I like to make my time on the river as simple and efficient as possible, and this is a good way to start off the day.

Thanks muttster, cannot remember if this was the original company but it sure looks like it will work. Just ordered a supply of the large bags and will test them out.

If you need information on anything related to boating - this is the place to go!
