So this guy was on the Poudre with a toddler and a baby so that means he should be fine on DESO at 40,000 cfs? Not sure of the logic there.

I believe Randaddy meant it sarcastically. That picture was discussed in 80 pages on Buzz a while ago. I am a little more prepared than a picture gear wise, but I think a guy trip is more likely this time around. Thanks for everyone's feedback.

Yes! Let's resurrect the picture of Kevin and all the connected trash talk. Still mad about that huh Randy? See you at 11:00 by the way...

My .02 is you'd hate for one bad high water experience to "muddy the waters" about boating for your family for years to come. Can always turn it around on the wife and make yourself sound like Captain Levelheaded-Safetyfirst-Guy.

Interesting post, and I adopt Andy's philosphy - - young children really don't understand and have just as much "fun" in splish-splash easy water, so why expose them to a potentially negative experience? And, he's absolutely right about swift, cold water with powerful hydraulics. A child in a PFD could be pulled under, or difficult to catch on a big, wide, fast moving river. Let mom take them to the pool. They won't know the difference.
