Need a long section of flatwater
I know most people are avoiding the flatwater, but we are training for some marathon canoe racing and looking for long stretches of flatwater that doesn't stink like the south platte.
We've run the north platte in Wyoming a bunch, but would like to get on the colorado. Ideally 30-100 mile stretches, but we'll take anything.
Right now we are thinking State Bridge to Cottonwood on the Colorado, portaging the big rapid, but we are in a longboat, so I'm not sure about that.
What does the colorado do after south canyon in Glenwood? Could we get 30-50 miles downstream from there? Any other suggestions?
