Once again. Hit the play park.

I have never owned a play boat but my first year I was throwing the nose of my creeker into the holes at golden hang on as long as possible brace, brace some more then flip and practice your roll.

Hell, I just told one of my buddies that for some reason I don't have supreme confidence in my roll this year and that I need to hit the play park.

It's an constant process complacency leads to swims... Swims while part of the game are bad, mmmkay.

When bracing, most people's instinct is to jerk their head up, away from the water. Just like in rolling, this defeats bringing your boat upright and actually has the opposite effect: rolling your boat back over. A great habit to get into is to turn your head/face/eyes towards the paddle you are bracing on. Remember, the goal of a brace or roll is not to get your body upright but to get your boat upright. You body will follow if you finish the move correctly.

The most common bracing problem I see is folks leaving their paddle in too long. You need to know when your brace becomes and anchor and needs to be removed/reset.

I don't make much of a distinction between bracing and rolling. Seems to me like rolling is bracing with your head underwater.
