Mosquitos on San Juan

I've done the San Juan in early April and never had a problem. Pulled a permit for the end of May this year and am wondering how bad they get. My dad's thinking of coming along, so I just want to give him a general idea. I would imagine they can't be too bad on the river, so perhaps we could just adjust our float times and start a fire earlier.

I never had a problem during that time of year. Maybe a few stray ones around, but nothing like the Deso.

You might have gnats that time of year and Steer Gulch can have its share of hungry mosquitos. Best to bring the bug juice.

Slickhorn had some flies, but I don't recall any skeeter issues.
