Montrose Whitewater Park, Is it good now (9/18)?

Hey Buzzards,

I'm wondering if there is adequate flow in the Montrose Whitewater Park to make it worth a trip from Grand Junction, right now. Thanks in advance! I saw the earlier post about it being good through September, but it's a bit hard for me to believe..hopefully the post was correct.

Kinda just answered my own question.....the park is good down to 200 cfs. Although the Uncompahgre River is low from the source, there's extra water coming in from the Gunnison Diversion Tunnel. Guess I'll try it out today.

Looks like there is still enough water, does anyone know how long it will run? Don't know if I will make it up there again, but it was sure fun this summer! Thanks!

The South Canal gets shut down at the end of this month then it's finished for sure. It may be OK from now to then, though, as most people are finished irrigating and shutting off their headgates and winterizing.
Not sure what exact day. If you're wondering, call the UVWUA at (970) 249-3813.

I had a great time there the other day. I seem to recall that last year they shut it off exactly at the end of October.
